Part of my excuse is because I'm hardly ever on the actual computer now that my sweet hubby got me an iPhone for my birthday almost a year ago. I pretty much do everything from my phone now that I used to do on the computer. So I figured hey...maybe I can just write a little blog from my phone after all:). So there may not be many pics because I don't know how to do that from my phone, but I might be a little better at updating this thing. Anyone know of a blogging app??? So a lot has happened since the last blog...Keely turned 1, she's now running everywhere and talking some (she says leche, agua, mama, Papa, bebe, no, rana, wowow=perro, hi, hola, bye, and lots of animal sounds). We had a BIG first birthday party for her complete with a piñata with lots of friends and family. A little after that we had our first WHITE Christmas I can remember here in Tx. We all loved waking up Christmas morning and going out and playing in the snow- dogs included:). Then we had more snow March...like 8 inches or something! Again we all bundled up and played our hearts out cuz we didn't know if it would ever snow like that again. Will has been staying VERY busy at work, but fortunately only traveling a few times a month if that. He has really enjoyed being able to come home every night and have quality family time bonding with his baby girl. A few weeks ago we joined him on the road after he was done with the work part of the trip. He was down in Corpus Christi, so Keely and I hopped on a plane for her first plane ride to spend some time with papa. I had my bag of tricks and I was ready for the plane...the 2 hour delay at the airport not so much. Needless to say we walked pretty much the whole airport to kill time and wear her out so she was ready to sit for 2 hours. She did fine on the plane, people kept saying how she was such a good flyer. I, however, was on the egde of my seat ready to pull out my next trick the second she squeeked. The weather was beautiful so we were able to go to the beach, go swimming, and we went to the coolest aquarium. We were pleasently surprised with how nice Corpus was. A great little get-a-way:)! We definitly realized relaxing vacations are over for a while though;). With Keely with us it go go go! Very cool to be able to experience things through her eyes. We were soooo happy to be back home and in our own beds though! For those of you expecting, I defintely recommend a baby moon before your little one gets here:). I'm still just working two times a week. Keely's abuela and my sister each watch her a day while I work. It's so great for her to be able to spend alone time and bond with them, but I really miss her. Being a mom has been soooo awesome! Don't get me wrong it definitely has it's ups and downs and it's 24/7, but WOW, I love it! I can't believe how much fun I have playing with her every day! Kids are truely miracles! God is amazing!

Summer 2009

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5401978625976625346" style="DISPLAY: block; We had a wonderful summer full of swimming, family, a trip to the zoo and lots of wonderful memories. Keely started crawling around 6mos and has now taken a few steps and is climbing on everything. We have had so much fun seeing everything through her eyes. She is hilarious! I have enjoyed being able to work just two days a week and spend so much time with Keely. We have had fun getting together with other moms and babies:) and having little playdates. We are very sad to say that in the end of September Keely's Abuelo (Will's dad) past away. We miss him very much and are so greatful we were able to spend so much time with him and that he was able to see Keely. We thank God for all our wonderful friends and family who are so caring and helpful during this time. We are happy Fall is here and have enjoyed some nice walks in the pretty weather. In the end of October we took a trip down to Austin for one of my bestfriends wedding. We were all apart of the wedding party so it was very exciting:). "Pastor" Will did a great job performing the ceremony and Keely was a beautiful little flower girl. We had a blast dancing the night away. Keely wanted to be on the dance floor the whole time. We were very happy to get home though, Keely is not the best hotel sleeper (which means we don't sleep). So I'm gonna try and be better at blogging. Here's to hoping:)

Catching up...
I'm trying to remember where I left off...We enjoyed celebrating St. Patricks Day by having my family and some friends over. We had Will's green pina coladas, and some other fun green food. Keely wore her St. Patty's day outfit her great aunt Patty sent her. My Grandma came into town for her quarterly stay with my parents (she lives with my parents 3 mos on 3 mos off). It was sooo fun to have her come and finally meet Keely!! She is a proud GREAT grandma. Since my sister and mom watch Keely while I work, they get to spend quite a bit of time together. Keely's fun new thing for 3 mos was laughing. We were giving her a bath and I decided to take a picture to show how much she is growing. All of a sudden she burst into a huge belly laugh. Of course Will and I then started laughing and we all sat there laughing for a good few minutes. We love her little laugh, such a sweet sound! Work has been staying busy for me, which is great. Will is still getting used to his new role at work, but enjoying the challenge (and not traveling as much!!!) Keely at 4 months has blossomed into a sweet little girl...it seems like we are seeing more and more of her little personality. She is now laughing alot, talking alot, sitting up for short periods of time, and rolling over like a champ (which now makes her a tummy sleeper). At her 4 month appointment she weighed 15.5 pounds (in the 92%tile) and was 26 inches long (in the 96 %tile). So she is still growing strong. We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with Will's family and Keely wore her little "mexicana" dress:). Then we watched the Mavericks lose unfortunately. We are still a family of Mavs fans. Though its not looking too good this season. This past Sunday I enjoyed my first official mother's day. Will and Keely bought me a "mom" necklace and a gc for a mani/ pedi (= alone time). We dedicated Keely at church (such a special time) and then celebrated with family at lunch at our favorite Italian restaurant. It was so special to have my grandma there. We are about to take our first little road trip with Keely to see my brother graduate. Fortunately Waco isn't too far so I think she will be great! It will be our first night out of the house (our safe little bubble) since she was born...so we will see how much stuff we will have to cram into the car to make the hotel baby ready:). We are looking forward to a fun summer at the pool:)....I cant wait to take her swimming!!! I will post pictures of the events I wrote about soon:). ~Blessings~

We went to Keely's 2 mos. check up last week, and it went GREAT! The doctor said she was very strong and smart. Keely weighed 12.78 pounds which puts her in the 89% for weight, she was 23.5 inches long putting her in the 86% for height. So we have a big healthy baby! She still is just taking her little cat naps during the day, keeping mommy busy. She is now "sleeping through the night" (I don't know who decided 5-6 hours was "through the night"), so we are very grateful for a little more sleep. Last Friday Keely's Tia Maria pierced her ears. Now I don't have to dress her in head to toe pink (which as most of you know I am not a fan of) in order for people to tell she is a girl. With her cute little ear rings she looks even more like a sweet little girl. We took her to get some pictures taken last night. Of course she didn't smile or do much of her cute little stuff until we were finished. Hopefully some turned out well so we can show she was a happy baby at 2 mos:). Will is staying busy with his new position at work, and I am enjoying my two days of work and coming home to my sweet little family. Will is an amazing dad! I keep asking him which finger she has him wrapped around;). She loves her papa! Its amazing how both of us can spend some much time playing with her already. He also enjoys the Sunday afternoon family naps (as you can see in the pic). She is still sleeping in her cradle in our room at night, but is now taking her naps up in her room (with the exception of the family naps:)where we all snuggle in our bed). We are enjoying this beautiful weather and taking lots of walks. Keely is loving her puppies. And her puppies are loving her:). Life is good in the Sanchez home.

It has been a busy few weeks.... Keely has grown so much!! I have gone back to work two days a week, so far I haven't cried leaving her. Right now she is staying with my mom and sister while I work. Once she is 3 mos. we will be putting her in a home child care close to my work. I think since I know she is getting plenty of attention and love it makes it easier for me to leave her. It's amazing how much I miss her after only a few hours. I am taking her for her two month appointment tomorrow. It will be fun to see her "stats", and how much she has grown. She is such a sweet baby, very content. Our Valentine's day was very special this year. It was fun having Keely celebrate it with us. Papa brought both of us flowers and gifts and we had a few little gifts for him too:). She went to bed a little early so we could share a quiet dinner (Chili's to go...yum!) together. We are starting to venture out a little more now that we are all healthy (praise God). Keely has had her first play date, and gone to her first birthday party. She enjoyed them both of course:). We have had a few nights of 5-6 hour stretches of sleep. We are definitely getting into a routine. Keely is talking a lot, smiling a ton, holding her head up, and has rolled over 3 times (I don't think she knows how she did it though, so we still have a little more time of her being immobile). She also loves the car and going for walks. Will has been working locally, it has been wonderful having him home every night. More to come soon:)

So things have been a little crazy lately. We are battling our first "cold" or whatever this crud is. Will got it last week, then I got it right as he was getting better. Right when we thought Keely had escaped it....poor baby came down with a low fever. So now I am still sick and Keely also isn't feeling well. She is such a sweet baby. We were finally getting into a routine and we had our first night of her sleeping a whole 7 hours (this was before she got sick)!!! So I am hoping once we kick this thing we will be back on the schedule and sleeping through the night. Despite being sick she is still smiling and making her sweet baby sounds. She loves the fan (even if its off), and is starting to like her swing (YAY!!). We are so happy that Will has now officially stepped into his new position at work, now he wont have to travel more than 3-5 days a month. We love having daddy around!! I will be going back to work next week so Keely is going to spend a little time with Grandma and Tanta Corrie. I'm sure it's going to be harder on me than her. I'm never sure how to end these things......so more Sanchez family updates to come:).

So we are not so good at this blog thing.....sorry it has taken so long to update. Keely has definitely been keeping us busy (in a good way:)). It's amazing how much she has grown and developed in this last month. We went to her one month check up on the 22nd and the doctor was very impressed with her. Keely is now 9.69lbs (which puts her in the 65.5 %tile for weight) and 21.5 inches long (which puts her in the 67.7 %tile for height). We are very happy to see her growing and healthy. She is now smiling at us, lifting her head, and finding her voice. She enjoys her tummy time and loves her bath time (now that her cord has fallen off). We are really enjoying our precious baby girl and being parents. We are reading baby wise and look forward to sleeping through the night hopefully in the next month or so (we can hope right?). Cash and Maverick are getting used to having another person in the house. They have been very sweet and very attentive to her. Whenever she cries they are quick to look at us, letting us know we need to help her:). Fortunately I think she got used to them barking when she was in the womb because it doesn't seem to faze her. Keely has decided that she prefers to be held....so we are trying to get her used to the swing, the bouncer, and just being content laying down on her own. We love that she likes to snuggle with us, but its nice to be able to have our hands free at times. Will is an amazing father and I am really enjoying see him love on our daughter. His face lights up when he gets home from work and Keely and I are waiting for him. He is now a pro at changing diapers and putting baby things together (i.e. swing, stroller, bouncer etc...). We thank God for all our wonderful family and friends who have been so helpful in this exciting time!

Keely Is Home

Wow! It is real! Keely Solana Sanchez has moved in. Alrighty, in a nut shell...we went in to the hospital on Sunday evening for a scheduled Induction (due to the high blood pressure) on Monday. Christy was put on magnesium to fight the high blood pressure which had some tuff side effects (slows labor and makes you feel like you've been hit by a truck). The next morning (Monday 12/22) Christy was given the pitocin to induce labor. We had a 20% chance of a vaginal delivery and praise God, we did it. Christy was able to push the baby out in 40min!...and at 8:30pm on Monday 12/22, there SHE was...Keely Solana:) We had a girl! She was 20inch long and weighed 6lb 11oz (not bad for being 2 weeks early). Not finding out the gender added to the whole expereince. It was like Keely in a matter of seconds took on this identity that was waiting to be claimed. Finding out we had a daughter right after delivering her was quite the moment. We were released from the hospital Christmas Eve and bringing Keely home for the first time was amazing. This truly was the best (early) Christmas present we ever got (of course after Jdesus). Now we have been playing the role of mom and dad...and quit honestly...really enjoy it even though it is at times exhausting. I truly didn't know how much time would pass by while just staring at her sleep or look around (always learning). She has captured our hearts right from the get-go. She had us at Waaahhhh!

34-36 Weeks

These past few weeks have been busy but overall exciting to say the least. Over the past few weeks Baby Sanchez has grown to be around 19 inches long, weighs about 6 lbs 3oz., and has developed physically. Now the baby is focusing on putting on weight and kicking Christy :) We went in for a routine check-up this past Wed (12/3) and found Christy's blood pressure was high. They admitted us into labor and delivery and ran tests and monitored Christy and the baby. They ran some tests and after 24 hrs decided it was safe to release Christy on bed rest. The high blood pressure was just a part of pregnancy. She is at home now on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy. We had another doctor's appointment Mon (12/8) and the baby is still doing great. We got a sonogram and were able to see the baby's face :) Chunky Cheeks...that's the baby's new name :) Everything looks great and the heart beat is strong. Christy is doing well but has to continue to keep the blood pressure under control. We will most likely get induced before Christmas if the baby has not come by then. We will keep you posted and give you the official date once we meet with our doctor and work out the logistics. Thanks for all your prayer and support. Sorry things have been busy lately. We are almost 34 wks and can now see the finish line in the horizon! The baby is about 18 inches long and weighs a little less than 5lbs. I never believed that I would see and feel the baby kick as much as I have these past weeks. It seems that the baby likes to stretch out instead of stay in a ball. Just the other day I felt the baby kick on both sides of Christy's tummy at the same time :) The nursery is coming together nicely and it is becoming more of a 'reality' that soon we will have this new addition to our family. Christy is doing well for the most part, she is starting to feel a little more fatigue and the swelling is becoming more of a common occurrence. The baby likes playing around in the middle of the night waking Christy up, so her sleep is lacking to say the least. Now when people see Christy they actually believe she is pregnant (cute belly bump). We are both very excited and anxious to meet the baby and find out if we are having a son or daughter. Please keep us in your prayers as we finish the last 6wks or so of this pregnancy!
~Will & Christy

28/29 Weeks

Time is flying by as we have now hit our 3rd trimester! I know the baby will be here before we know it and how excited we are to meet him/her :) Over these past two weeks, the baby is still kicking and I can see it move from side to side in Christy's tummy. Baby now has eye lashes and the head is growing as the brain is developing millions of neurons. The baby weighs about 2.5lbs and is around 15 inches long. Christy's doctor visit went well and everything looks good. We went to our first baby class (Baby Care/Infant CPR). Christy and I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. The plastic dolls were good babies. They cooperated with us by not crying and staying still :) So this should be easy right? According to statistics 86% of car seats are installed incorrectly nationally (locally 97%). This is why when we get our car seats Christy and I are going to drive them to the hospital for their certified technicians to check them:) We hit up the Home Depot today and got the goods for the nursery. Paint, brushes, knobs, sand paper, etc. "We" are going to paint the room as well as my old dressers along with some other stuff (putting the crib together). Don't worry Christy will not be around the paint but will help me tape and do other fun stuff like that. It will have to wait though until I get back from Miami :( We are so excited that the holidays are coming because it just means our baby is that much closer to meeting Mama y Papa:) Until next time, be blessed!
~Will and Christy

Psalm 139:15

"You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb."

The whole chapter is pretty cool, but this verse just gets me thinking. God is watching our baby being formed. How cool that God is so interested in us from the beginning. So let's play catch up. The baby's development and health is great! Praise God! The Baby weighs a little under 2 lbs and is about 14 inch long. The baby has been moving and kicking a lot lately. I played the guitar for the baby the other day and watched Christy's stomach move. I think the baby liked it, or was trying to escape :)
Something really cool, we believe the baby is a cuddler. Christy told me our little sweet rested his/her bum (or head) on her hand. One night I feel asleep with my hand on Christy's stomach. Christy woke me up to feel the baby moving. The baby actually moved towards my hand and rested the bum (or head) in my hand. It's something I will never forget, so cool! It's amazing how much of a connection Christy and I feel with this baby already and can't wait to meet. It seems that the baby has such a personality :) I posted another pic to show how Christy popped within the last few weeks. Until next time, God bless!

Ephesians 5:1,2

" Follow God's example in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins. And God was pleased, because that sacrifice was like a sweet perfume to Him."

My prayer is to follow God's example (Jesus) to the best of my ability with the help of the Holy Spirit. I believe the more I am like Christ, the better father I will be. Learning how to live a life loving others is a great desire of mine. When I think about loving my kid (I already do and it continues to grow), it blows me away. I get a glimpse on how God may feel about Jesus. Time went by so fast that I didn't even to get to post our 20weeks. So this is kind of a catch up as well. We had a doctor's appointment this past Monday (8/18) and had a sonogram. Unbelievable! Our baby looked so amazing! The Baby is in excellent health and is also about 5 days ahead of schedule in development. The baby weighs 15oz and is around a foot in length:) I have felt the Baby kick a couple of times now and it feels like the kicks are getting stronger (Christy feels them for sure) :) We appreciate all your prayers and support! We are about half way there already...time flew by. Coming up on 19 weeks this Friday (8/8) :). So far, the pregnancy has been pretty exciting. A new experience for both of us. Christy can feel the baby move and kick and I'm trying to catch it kicking to see if I can feel it. I think it's still too early but you never know. According to babycenter.com the baby is about 5.5 inches long; 7 oz; and about the size of a bell pepper. Every doctor's appointment we have been to shows the baby has a strong heartbeat and is actually growing a little ahead of schedule. Christy says the baby likes to sit on her bladder a lot :). Well, until next time, please continue praying for us as we continue this awesome journy!

~Will

Deut. 4:9

I'm gona try and post a verse every week that I feel will help prepare me for fatherhood.
