34-36 Weeks

These past few weeks have been busy but overall exciting to say the least. Over the past few weeks Baby Sanchez has grown to be around 19 inches long, weighs about 6 lbs 3oz., and has developed physically. Now the baby is focusing on putting on weight and kicking Christy :) We went in for a routine check-up this past Wed (12/3) and found Christy's blood pressure was high. They admitted us into labor and delivery and ran tests and monitored Christy and the baby. They ran some tests and after 24 hrs decided it was safe to release Christy on bed rest. The high blood pressure was just a part of pregnancy. She is at home now on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy. We had another doctor's appointment Mon (12/8) and the baby is still doing great. We got a sonogram and were able to see the baby's face :) Chunky Cheeks...that's the baby's new name :) Everything looks great and the heart beat is strong. Christy is doing well but has to continue to keep the blood pressure under control. We will most likely get induced before Christmas if the baby has not come by then. We will keep you posted and give you the official date once we meet with our doctor and work out the logistics. Thanks for all your prayer and support. Love you guys!

30-33 Weeks :)

It's been about a month since our last blog. Sorry things have been busy lately. We are almost 34 wks and can now see the finish line in the horizon! The baby is about 18 inches long and weighs a little less than 5lbs. I never believed that I would see and feel the baby kick as much as I have these past weeks. It seems that the baby likes to stretch out instead of stay in a ball. Just the other day I felt the baby kick on both sides of Christy's tummy at the same time :) The nursery is coming together nicely and it is becoming more of a 'reality' that soon we will have this new addition to our family. Christy is doing well for the most part, she is starting to feel a little more fatigue and the swelling is becoming more of a common occurrence. The baby likes playing around in the middle of the night waking Christy up, so her sleep is lacking to say the least. Now when people see Christy they actually believe she is pregnant (cute belly bump). We are both very excited and anxious to meet the baby and find out if we are having a son or daughter. Please keep us in your prayers as we finish the last 6wks or so of this pregnancy!

28/29 Weeks

Time is flying by as we have now hit our 3rd trimester! I know the baby will be here before we know it and how excited we are to meet him/her :) Over these past two weeks, the baby is still kicking and I can see it move from side to side in Christy's tummy. Baby now has eye lashes and the head is growing as the brain is developing millions of neurons. The baby weighs about 2.5lbs and is around 15 inches long. Christy's doctor visit went well and everything looks good. We went to our first baby class (Baby Care/Infant CPR). Christy and I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. The plastic dolls were good babies. They cooperated with us by not crying and staying still :) So this should be easy right? According to statistics 86% of car seats are installed incorrectly nationally (locally 97%). This is why when we get our car seats Christy and I are going to drive them to the hospital for their certified technicians to check them:) We hit up the Home Depot today and got the goods for the nursery. Paint, brushes, knobs, sand paper, etc. "We" are going to paint the room as well as my old dressers along with some other stuff (putting the crib together). Don't worry Christy will not be around the paint but will help me tape and do other fun stuff like that. It will have to wait though until I get back from Miami :( We are so excited that the holidays are coming because it just means our baby is that much closer to meeting Mama y Papa:) Until next time, be blessed!

Psalm 139:15

"You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb."

The whole chapter is pretty cool, but this verse just gets me thinking. God is watching our baby being formed. How cool that God is so interested in us from the beginning. A lesson of hope from this verse for all of us...even when we are in the dark, God can see us. Be comforted in those times. He cares.

Catch Up :)

Alrighty, so I dropped the ball and haven't posted anything in a while. So let's play catch up. The baby's development and health is great! Praise God! The Baby weighs a little under 2 lbs and is about 14 inch long. The baby has been moving and kicking a lot lately. I played the guitar for the baby the other day and watched Christy's stomach move. I think the baby liked it, or was trying to escape :)
Something really cool, we believe the baby is a cuddler. Christy told me our little sweet rested his/her bum (or head) on her hand. One night I feel asleep with my hand on Christy's stomach. Christy woke me up to feel the baby moving. The baby actually moved towards my hand and rested the bum (or head) in my hand. It's something I will never forget, so cool! It's amazing how much of a connection Christy and I feel with this baby already and can't wait to meet. It seems that the baby has such a personality :) I posted another pic to show how Christy popped within the last few weeks. Until next time, God bless!

Ephesians 5:1,2

" Follow God's example in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins. And God was pleased, because that sacrifice was like a sweet perfume to Him."

My prayer is to follow God's example (Jesus) to the best of my ability with the help of the Holy Spirit. I believe the more I am like Christ, the better father I will be. Learning how to live a life loving others is a great desire of mine. When I think about loving my kid (I already do and it continues to grow), it blows me away. I get a glimpse on how God may feel about Jesus. That last verse 'And God was pleased, because that sacrifice was like a sweet perfume to Him,' I'm finding I can relate to more and more. Our baby is already a like a sweet perfume to me that is ever growing in it's permanence. Just thinking about him/her brings me joy and excitement along with a desire to one day meet.

21 Weeks :)

Wow! Time went by so fast that I didn't even to get to post our 20weeks. So this is kind of a catch up as well. We had a doctor's appointment this past Monday (8/18) and had a sonogram. Unbelievable! Our baby looked so amazing! The Baby is in excellent health and is also about 5 days ahead of schedule in development. The baby weighs 15oz and is around a foot in length:) I have felt the Baby kick a couple of times now and it feels like the kicks are getting stronger (Christy feels them for sure) :) We appreciate all your prayers and support! God Bless!

19 Weeks!

19 Weeks Already! I actually think I felt the baby kick just the other night and it was unreal! Our baby is the size of a large heirloom tomato (pic on right), weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and about 6 inches in length top to bottom. The Baby's sensory development is well underway (smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch)! There is a chance the baby can hear our voices now so we are trying to speak to the baby in Spanish (never to early):) Christy may experience rapid growth in the weeks to come (she still looks amazing) and the baby is still having fun jumping on her bladder. Pregnancy is one awesome journey!

Pregnancy so far - 18weeks

Wow!!! We are about half way there already...time flew by. Coming up on 19 weeks this Friday (8/8) :). So far, the pregnancy has been pretty exciting. A new experience for both of us. Christy can feel the baby move and kick and I'm trying to catch it kicking to see if I can feel it. I think it's still too early but you never know. According to babycenter.com the baby is about 5.5 inches long; 7 oz; and about the size of a bell pepper. Every doctor's appointment we have been to shows the baby has a strong heartbeat and is actually growing a little ahead of schedule. Christy says the baby likes to sit on her bladder a lot :). Well, until next time, please continue praying for us as we continue this awesome journy!

Deut. 4:9

I'm gona try and post a verse every week that I feel will help prepare me for fatherhood. The more I come to know God as a father, the more I want to be one.

~Will

Deuteronomy 4:9
Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
